Review: Reckless by Priscilla West

*Note: This is book #6 in the Forever series.

Synopsis: Everything about him warned me to stay away.

I’d seen bad boys before, but he had it all and more. The rippling muscles covered in tatts, the piercing eyes hiding dark secrets, the silky voice that could make a girl come with just a whisper.
He was exactly the type of guy that would get me in trouble, but when he jumped off the stage, inked skin glistening with sweat and breathed his seductive words into my ear, I couldn’t resist the temptation.
It was supposed to be the best one-night stand of my life, but fate didn’t let it play out that way. Things happened. I got upset. I got hasty. And worst of all, I got reckless.
After that disaster, I thought it was the last I’d see of him. But what I didn’t know was that I’d started something.
Something that could shatter the very thing I had worked so hard to protect.
I should have known back then that the most seductive things in life are also the most dangerous.

My Review: I ended up really liking this book. I had actually put off reading it and left it for later but now I wish I had read it sooner. Jax and Riley go so well together. They have both been screwed over in the past and have tried their best to overcome their troubles. I feel like they were exactly what the other needed to finally deal with what they had both gone through. Jax was strong for Riley when she couldn't be and he let her know that she was worth so much more than what she thought she was.

Riley, on the other hand, simply calmed Jax. Jax was rude and moody and the typical womanizer in a famous rock band but there was a lot of layers to him and as the story goes on, we begin to see them. Every time he was spiraling out of control, Riley was there to calm him down and try to understand his situation and where he was coming from. They found comfort in each other and I really liked how their relationship became stronger the more time they spent together. She helped him fight off his demons when he couldn't and I think that says a lot about a person. There were a few lines here and there that made me cringe but that's fine. Now I'm off to read the second part of Jax & Riley's story- I will be back reviewing the second part of Jax & Riley's story once I have finished it. :)

A bonus part of this book was the fact that it actually included lyrics
that added to the story and made it better, helping the reader understand Jax's character a little bit more.
