Review: The Gentleman Mentor by Kendall Ryan

*Note: This is book #1 in the Lessons With A Dom series.

He calls himself the Gentleman Mentor.
Just reading his ad makes me feel more alive than I have in years.
He promises to teach me the art of seduction … and show me the most sinfully erotic pleasures. He’s going to help me become the kind of confident, sexy woman men can’t ignore.
Six lessons … with the most gorgeous man … who happens to be a Dom.
The only problem … now that I’ve experienced his brand of delectable domination will anyone else ever compare?

She’s a client. That’s all.
Or it should be.
But with every lesson, she’s becoming more.
The secrets I’m hiding behind the image of the Gentleman Mentor make telling her the truth—and having anything real—impossible.
I’m training her for another man, and that fact guts me every time I think of it.
I know she’s not mine … but part of me won’t accept that.
Am I willing to risk it all to keep her?

THE GENTLEMAN MENTOR is a full-length standalone novel.

My Review:
I went into this book pretty much knowing what to expect. However, I got way more than I thought I would from reading this book. This is a story about passion. This is a story about love- wanting to love and be loved by someone just as fiercely. Most of all, this is a story about self worth. About giving yourself the respect you deserve. About having confidence in yourself- to be able to look in a mirror and see yourself as someone who is beautiful and loved and wanted even though some days you might not feel as though you are. But you always are.

This is also a story about being hurt and betrayed by the people who you held so close to your heart that you never, ever believed they could be capable of hurting you. It is about overcoming your past and forgetting about the people who hurt you- because they were never and will never be worth it. It is about overcoming your fears and letting yourself open up to someone- to love someone genuinely even though there will always be a chance that you might get hurt in the process- but you risk it anyways, because that's what love is.
I absolutely loved this story. I felt like I could relate to the hero and heroine so much- because in a way, I have been in similar situations. It was so amazing for me to read Hale and Brielle's story. Brielle has always had a problem with her confidence. She has trouble feeling sexy and completely comfortable in her skin. She longs to be loved and she doesn't give herself the worth she deserves. It was so meaningful and incredible to see this character go through changes and finally understand that she deserves more than what she usually settles for.
Hale is hesitant to be in a relationship with someone, anyone, because of the way his previous relationship ended. It was easy to see how fast he began to develop feelings for his 'Peach'. Although he was always suppose to have a lesson in mind, sometimes he just wanted to be with her- no lesson involved. Although when he did teach her a lesson- it was always a little bit more. It was always about her. Things she needed to realize about herself, her needs and her self worth. I loved seeing them open up to each other and fully let one another in. Now I will just sit here....waiting for Reece's book.

The next book in the series, The Dominant will be out on July 14, 2015.
Be on the look out! It's gonna be good. ;)
