Synopsis:
My life changed forever the night my husband died.
I was left with a shattered heart, a heap of bills, and our daughter, EVERLEIGH. I don’t want to rely on anyone, least of all CREW GENTRY. He’s my first love and the man who almost destroyed me, the man who has let me down every time I’ve needed him.
But when tragedy strikes a second time, Crew just might be my only hope
-
My life changed forever the night my brother died.
I was left with a guilty conscience, a pile of mistakes, and little else. I take care of JULIA GENTRY, my brother’s widow and the love of my life, and their daughter. I know she doesn’t want my help, but she gets it anyway. I owe her that.
When another disaster hits, I’m given the opportunity to make things right. I’m taking it. I'm willing to sacrifice it all.
My Review:
This book seriously put me through the ringer. I knew I would like it simply by reading the synopsis. However, I didn't expect it to go like it did. I felt like I was hopping onto a roller coaster wearing a blindfold over my eyes. I never knew what would happen next, whether it would be going up, to the sides or just plummeting down into a pit of darkness full of ugly crying and screams of  "WHY ADRIANA, WHY?" I had a lot of feelings while reading this book. It was very, very intense and at times even eye opening to some situations.

Crew and Julia have had a rocky relationship for a long time. The book starts on the anniversary of Gage Gentry's death. Gage was Crew's brother as well as Julia's husband and father of her child, Everleigh. Everleigh, who will have your heart wrapped around her tiny little fingers SECONDS after you meet the little monkey. She is so brave and beautiful and so observant. A lot of the characters that we meet in this book are very hard not to love. They each have their good and bad characteristics but they try to make the best out of every situation with that they have. There are also characters who make you want to get up and fight them or just throw tomatoes at them. There is a lot going on in this story. It will make your heart skip a beat while continuously pulling at your heart strings.
This book teaches you a lot about life and love. It teaches you about forgiveness and about strength. It shows us the great lengths that people are willing to go through in order to protect someone they love. It shows you all of the sacrifices someone can be willing to make- regardless of the impact it may have on them. It shows you that people can change for the better and that some times, you just have to put yourself aside and realize you may not be the only one hurting or in a bad situation.

I absolutely loved this book. I really did. I loved how real the situations were. It didn't focus on a happy ending (although, don't worry, this is a HEA book) and it didn't try to sugar coat situations that are meant to be taken seriously. I don't want to talk about the plot too much because I believe the synopsis is enough. The less you go in knowing, the better- it will surprise you more and you will love it. I'm probably going to get my step sister a copy and watch her go through the emotional roller coaster I went through. *evil laugh*

*Disclaimer: I was given an ARC of this book for review purposes as I am participating in the Sacrifice blog tour hosted by Give Me Books. My receiving this ARC has nothing to do with my review. I will always remain HONEST and UNBIASED. ♥ x, J.
