Synopsis
Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.
Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pussy or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.

My Review
I knew going into this book that I would like it. The prologue itself made me fall in love with the characters, although to be honest- Preppy was my foul-mouthed favorite. I started reading this book as an audiobook and I loved it. King and Preppy's friendship was instant and they fit together like if they were meant to be family- and they really were. They protected each other and they were determined to make something out of themselves and their lives together. I loved it. I found myself smiling and laughing as I read their crazy hilarious conversations and seeing their bond become unbreakable as they grew up.

Now King and Doe...oh my god it was like a roller coaster. One of those that you never know which way they will go but you know one thing- there is no way in hell you're getting off this ride. He messed up a lot and he had ( a lot ) of moments in which he really sucked at showing how he really felt but I just loved watching him learn to open himself to her and let himself care. Then... THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE AND I NEEDED A BOX OF TISSUES WITH SOME ICE CREAM.

I needed that in all caps because there's not much I can say without giving it away. I will just say that this book broke me. It grabbed me, threw me against a wall and shattered me like glass. Now this is where I would normally be like "but it put me back together and then all was fine"-NO. No, it shattered me. It was the best rollercoaster ride ever and every single page was written so flawlessly (by an evil ginger) and it has honestly been a very long time since i have been able to completely lose myself in a book the way I lost myself in this one. Bravo, T.M. Frazier. Bravo.

I'm meeting T. M. Frazier next week at Wicked Book Weekend and I don't know if I should hug her or shake her while screaming WHY? WHY? But either way, I'm looking forward to meeting an actual evil genius. Now, I'm off to get my heart destroyed in Tyrant. See ya on the other side!
*Wicked Book Weekend was April 24/25 2016.  I met the author (and fan-girled a bit). It was all very surreal. Here we are! <3 span="">
